St. Mary's Cemetery Memorials
Virginia Plante was
the Mother of Grandma
Marie Anne. She was
from Worchester, Mass.

She and Napoleon were
married there and
baptized their 1st six children there.
They then moved to
Rolette County around 1886. They lived just
south of Belcourt.
(ND wasn't officially a
state until 1889)
In North Dakota, our
Grandma Marie Anne &
4 other children were
born and baptized.

Virgini died @ 64 years

Napoleon was one of
the historical pioneers
ofRolette County.
He died at 71 years.

Both are buried at
St. Mary's Cemetery,
Maryville Twp.,
Rolette County, ND

Avilor Roberge, brother to our Grandma Marie Anne.
He was born in Worchester, Mass.

Eleanor came to ND to visit her brother, Fr. Jos. DuPont
(who established St. Ann's Parish in Belcourt) when she met Avilor.
Avilor took care of Fr. DuPont's horses and wagon and drove him through the countryside for parish visits and business. Fr. DuPont's rectory was located on St. Ann's Parish grounds in Belcourt.

The memorial sits on the original location of St. Mary's Church, Maryville Twp. ND.


Philodem was another
brother of Grandma
Marie Ann's. Their
father was Napoleon Sr

The photos below shows the
fence that encircled Virgini's plot
before some committee decided
that it would be easier to mow
if it was gone. So... it is gone.
