Our Life on the Farm

Okay, I'll admit that these first two pictures weren't on the farm. But every hard-working farming family needs a day off
occasionally. These photos were taken in Belcourt on St. Ann's Day 1955 or 1956. Ed & Loretta are pictured with Dad's
Uncle Isadore Gauthier. He was married to Antoinette Roberge, daughter of Esdras (who was the brother of Grandma
Marie Anne.) Isadore & Antoinette lived in Willow City at the time. Isadore was a barber there. Us four little kids were
all dressed up for the event. I'm the one standing behind St. Francis. Did you notice us ladies all wearing hats?

Above & Below: A HOT DAY
Dad is sitting on a milking stool and manning the hose
to give us kids a cooling-off. It was very refreshing.
Even Mom and Dad got in on the action.
