Grandma Marie Anne's side of the Family
roberge755.jpg
This side of Daddy's family is much, much
better documented than the Louis Roberge
side. The reason for this is because Grandma
Marie Anne was raised in the Rolette County
area along with all of her brothers & sisters.

Their father, Napoleon, came to North Dakota
as one of the pioneen settlers of Rolette
County. Whereas, Grandpa Louis ( Napoleon's
nephew) was raised in Quebec and only came
to North Dakota (originally) to visit his Uncle
and cousins. And the rest is history......

Our Great-Grandpa Napoleon served as one
of the original Rolette County Commisioners
for many years. So his position in the county
was held in high esteem. He was one of the
richer members of the community.
His story -
as told by his daughter, Virginia
(our GreatAunt Minnie - pictured
below) can be found here.

Below: Avilor, a brother to our
Grandma Marie Anne and Aunt
Minnie. He is mentioned in the
story of Napoleon's family as
the one who helped Fr. DuPont
with his horses. That's how
Avilor met his future wife, Eleanor.
She was Fr. DuPont's sister.
